Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-date-002-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the transparent background by default — the component sits on the page background instead of laying a panel under itself; the showPicker existence check: without it the button silently does nothing in an older browser.

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, zero dependencies, palette in the local --vibeui-date-002-* variables. Client component: it needs a ref on the field and a click handler. The button calls input.showPicker() — the same system calendar the native icon opens, but with a 2.75rem hit area instead of a few pixels. Not every browser knows the method, so there is a fallback path: focus the field and type on the keyboard. The native indicator is hidden so that two buttons with the same meaning do not end up side by side.
