Technical notes
A server component: there is no state, everything is computed from the year and month props and the events dictionary. The dots stand under the number rather than over it: a backing behind the digit in a thirty-pixel cell would swallow the digit itself. There are at most three dots, beyond that a plus is placed — four dots in a row twenty pixels wide merge into a bar. The weekday names are taken from Intl in the narrow variant using the reference week of 5–11 January 2026, so the week starts on Monday. Every cell with events carries an aria-label with the count and its grammatical form, so the dots do not remain purely visual information. Its own light background is mandatory: someone else's site sidebar can be any colour.
