Deadline Countdown

A deadline card: the remainder spelled out instead of a ticking timer, a ring of elapsed time and the due date in a human-readable line.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the due date through deadline, the reference time through now and the start of the count through startedAt
  • the task name through heading
  • the wording through unitsText, remainingText, overdueText and dueText

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Deadline Countdown with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Deadline Countdown depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Deadline Countdown?
Adapt: the due date through deadline, the reference time through now and the start of the count through startedAt; the task name through heading; the wording through unitsText, remainingText, overdueText and dueText. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-calendar-020-* palette — with theme tokens the card stops matching the preview; the reference time passed as the now string: new Date() during render splits server and client and breaks hydration; the remainder in words instead of a ticking timer: seconds are useless on a multi-week deadline and require client code.
Is Deadline Countdown free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes

A server component: both the deadline and the reference "now" arrive as strings, so the render is deterministic and hydration does not drift — new Date() in the markup would be a mistake. The remainder is turned into words with Russian declension: for a term of weeks the seconds are useless, and a ticking timer requires a client. The ring shows the share of the term burned from startedAt to deadline: a percentage frightens more precisely than the remaining days on their own. The hole in the ring is made by a mask on a separate layer rather than a plug circle: a plug has to match the card background, while a mask works on any surface and does not eat the caption above it. The tone is switched by the data-tone attribute: three days before the due date the card turns yellow, after the due date it turns red and changes the wording to "overdue".
