Async Search

A search field with an honest loading state: the magnifier steps aside for a spinning ring while waiting, and the results counter appears only after a pause, like a real request.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the label and placeholder copy
  • the onChange handler — replace the demo fakeCount with a real request and its result
  • the accent through the accent prop

A link for your AI agent: preview, code and instructions.

FAQ

How do I add Async Search with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Async Search depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Async Search?
Adapt: the label and placeholder copy; the onChange handler — replace the demo fakeCount with a real request and its result; the accent through the accent prop. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-input-017-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the honest pause before the result: the status does not flip instantly along with typing; swapping the magnifier for the loading ring in the same spot in the markup — moving it makes the eye hunt for it.
Is Async Search free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/input-017.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in local variables --vibeui-input-017-*. A client component: "use client". A change of value switches the status to "loading" at once, and to "done" only after a setTimeout of 450 ms, imitating network latency; the effect cancels the timer on the next change. The magnifier glyph and the loading ring occupy the same spot in the markup, so the eye does not hunt for a new place. The results counter is a deterministic demonstration hash function, not a real search.
