FAQ
- How do I add Optional Note with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Optional Note depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Optional Note?
- Adapt: the field name through label and the note text through optionalText; the placeholder text through placeholder; the focus and accent color through accent. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-label-012-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the note inside <label> rather than as a separate nearby element: it has to be read as one phrase with the field name; muting through color and weight only, with no background or border — otherwise it turns back into a badge instead of a quiet part of the phrase.
- Is Optional Note free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, a palette in local variables --vibeui-label-012-*. It is a server component: useId is the only hook, there is no state. The "optional" note is not a separate element with a background and a border but muted text inside the same <label> as the field name: the label is read and spoken as one phrase rather than as a label plus a stuck-on tag. The muting is done only by the var(--vibeui-label-012-muted) colour and a regular weight against the bold field name. The palette is built on light-dark(): the block follows the surrounding color-scheme, there is no surface by default, and it appears only through the background prop.
