Input

Group Legend

A group label on a <legend> inside a <fieldset>: the question covers every radio at once and is repeated before each of them.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the group question through legend, the explanation through hint and the choices through options
  • the selected-state color through accent
  • background — the component surface; empty means no surface, taking the page colour

FAQ

How do I add Group Legend with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Group Legend depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Group Legend?
Adapt: the group question through legend, the explanation through hint and the choices through options; the selected-state color through accent; background — the component surface; empty means no surface, taking the page colour. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-label-005-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the fieldset + legend pair: replacing it with a <div> and a <p> loses the question repeated before every option; clear:both on the hint and the shell: a floated legend makes the following children wrap around it.
Is Group Legend free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, a palette in local variables --vibeui-label-005-*. It is a server component: useId is the only hook, and the state is held by native radio buttons sharing one name. The group heading is a <legend>, not a <label>: a <label> names a single field, while the question applies to every option, and the announcement repeats the legend before each of them. The legend has its special layout inside the border removed by the float:left;width:100% technique; the price for that is the wrapping, so the hint and the option shell get clear:both. Selecting an option highlights the whole row through :has(input:checked), and the focus ring is placed on the row through :has(input:focus-visible) — the tap target is visible in full. The palette is built on light-dark(): the block follows the surrounding color-scheme, there is no surface by default, and it appears only through the background prop.
