A text field with voice input through the Web Speech API: the microphone button starts recording, the recognized text is appended to what was typed, and the button is disabled with an explanation when the browser has no support.

FAQ
- How do I add Voice Dictation Field with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Voice Dictation Field depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Voice Dictation Field?
- Adapt: the label and placeholder copy; the starting defaultValue; the accent through the accent prop. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-input-029-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; checking API support in a useEffect after mount, not during render — otherwise the server and client first render would diverge; appending recognized text to the current value with a space, not replacing the field — voice and keyboard should mix freely.
- Is Voice Dictation Field free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in local variables --vibeui-input-029-*. A client component: "use client". Voice input uses the browser's built-in Web Speech API (window.SpeechRecognition / webkitSpeechRecognition) rather than an npm package: the constructor is looked up through a local SpeechRecognitionLike type without any. Support is checked in a useEffect after mounting (there is no window on the server), so the first render agrees on server and client alike, and the button only becomes active after the check. The recognised text is appended to the current value with a space rather than replacing it.
