Segmented Filter

A segmented control built on real radio inputs: the form holds the state, there is no client JS, and collapsed borders leave exactly one pixel between segments.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the set of segments through options
  • the initially selected segment through defaultValue
  • the accessible group name through label

FAQ

How do I add Segmented Filter with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Segmented Filter depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Segmented Filter?
Adapt: the set of segments through options; the initially selected segment through defaultValue; the accessible group name through label. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-buttongroup-001-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; radios inside a fieldset instead of buttons: arrows, Home/End and "2 of 3 selected" would otherwise be hand-written; the z-index on the selected and focused segment: with collapsed borders a neighbour clips both the border and the focus ring.
Is Segmented Filter free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

For developers

npx shadcn@latest add https://vibeui.club/r/pro/buttongroup-001.json

This command needs a signed link: sign in and open “Component source” below — it issues a working link valid for 30 minutes. All install options

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the --vibeui-buttongroup-001-* variables. It is a server component: there are no hooks and no handlers at all. The choice is held by radios inside a fieldset, so the arrows, Home/End and the "2 of 3 selected" announcement come from the browser. The input is stretched over the whole segment and is transparent, while the look is drawn by the label. The borders are collapsed through margin-inline-start:-1px, and the rounded corners are set with logical properties on the first and last segment only. The selected segment is raised to z-index:1 and the focused one to z-index:2, otherwise a neighbour clips the accent border and the focus ring. The legend is hidden with clip-path rather than display:none: otherwise the fieldset loses its accessible name.
