Dense Row Tools

A very dense cluster for a table row: 1.75rem to the eye, but the touch target is stretched by a pseudo-element to 2.75rem beyond the drawing.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the tools and their names through tools
  • the accessible group name through label
  • the focus ring colour through accent

FAQ

How do I add Dense Row Tools with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Dense Row Tools depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Dense Row Tools?
Adapt: the tools and their names through tools; the accessible group name through label; the focus ring colour through accent. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-buttongroup-054-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the stretched target on ::before: shrink the drawing, never the tap area; a gap of at least 0.125rem between buttons — otherwise the stretched targets overlap each other.
Is Dense Row Tools free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the --vibeui-buttongroup-054-* variables. It is a server component: there are no hooks. The technique is a ::before lying over the button and extending beyond it: a press is caught outside the drawing, while the layout is not inflated. That resolves the conflict of "a dense bar versus forty-four pixels of touch": it is the drawing that has to shrink, not the tap area. The buttons overlap by their targets, so the gap between them is no less than 0.125rem, otherwise the targets would eat one another. The last button is set apart by a vertical line: "more actions" is not on a par with editing and copying. The buttons have no captions, so each carries an aria-label.
