Timed Danger

A dangerous action with a countdown: a conic-gradient ring shows the seconds left, and disabled really does hold the button.

React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.

What you can change

  • the button captions through cancelLabel and dangerLabel
  • the lock duration through delay
  • the warning text through warning and the group name through label

FAQ

How do I add Timed Danger with Cursor or Claude Code?
Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
What does Timed Danger depend on?
No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
What can I change in Timed Danger?
Adapt: the button captions through cancelLabel and dangerLabel; the lock duration through delay; the warning text through warning and the group name through label. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-buttongroup-039-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; the real disabled: a pale but clickable button protects nothing; the numeric remainder next to the ring — a filling arc is invisible to a screen reader.
Is Timed Danger free?
Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes

The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the --vibeui-buttongroup-039-* variables. It is a client component: useState holds the number of elapsed seconds, and the remainder is computed as delay minus the elapsed time — a change of delay then takes effect at once and the state does not have to be reset by an effect; useEffect starts a setTimeout for one second and clears it on unmount. The ring is drawn with a conic-gradient plus a radial-gradient mask — the cut-out in the middle turns the circle into a ring without SVG; the filled share arrives through the --vibeui-buttongroup-039-progress variable. The disabled attribute is real: the button cannot be pressed and does not catch Enter, rather than merely looking pale. The number of seconds is duplicated as text and announced through role="status", because the ring does not exist for a screen reader. The protection is designed against the momentum of a press, not against ill intent.
