Anchored Hints
Segments with a hint on each: the anchor name is granted only to the hovered or focused segment, so exactly one anchor exists at any moment.
React + Tailwind, shadcn-compatible: press “Copy for AI” and your Cursor or Claude Code agent installs it with the shadcn CLI.
What you can change
- the segments and their hint texts through options
- the initially selected segment through defaultValue
- the accessible group name through label

FAQ
- How do I add Anchored Hints with Cursor or Claude Code?
- Press “Copy for AI” on this page and paste it into your agent's chat. The instruction contains the shadcn CLI install command, the dependencies and what to keep, so the agent installs this exact component instead of recreating a lookalike.
- What does Anchored Hints depend on?
- No npm packages beyond React and Tailwind CSS.
- What can I change in Anchored Hints?
- Adapt: the segments and their hint texts through options; the initially selected segment through defaultValue; the accessible group name through label. Keep as installed: the local --vibeui-buttongroup-056-* palette — do not swap it for your theme tokens; granting anchor-name only to the active segment: exactly one anchor exists and the names never clash; the @supports guard around anchor positioning — without it older browsers park the hint anywhere.
- Is Anchored Hints free?
- Yes. The preview is open without an account; with a free account you can copy up to 20 components a month.

Technical notes
The component is self-contained: one file, no dependencies, its own palette in the --vibeui-buttongroup-056-* variables. It is a server component: the choice is held by radios inside a fieldset. A hint is usually positioned absolutely inside the segment — and is then clipped by the very first ancestor with overflow. CSS anchor positioning is used here instead: anchor-name is declared in the :hover / :has(:focus-visible) rule, so at any moment there is exactly one anchor and the shared technique works without unique names per segment. Everything is wrapped in @supports (anchor-name: …): without support the hint stays absolutely positioned under the segment rather than running off into a corner of the screen. The hint is marked aria-hidden — the same thing is already said by the segment caption.
